The New Year often brings with it the “I’m doing things differently this year” syndrome. For me, goal-setting begins — which involves taking time to look back and evaluate various areas of my life and set new, but manageable levels to attain in the upcoming year.
With that in mind I have decided I want (and need) to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. My goal is to post at least once a week — which would be a definite increase for me compared to last year. Perhaps this will lead to more frequency than once a week.
My precious friend Kathy Nickerson, who is my encourager and inspiration in the area of writing, speaks often of disciplining this craft by setting aside daily time to write. I hear her, and know from experience in other areas of my life that this is true, but I have yet to actually do it when it comes to writing. I know it won’t always be easy, but I do love to write! Hopefully, my love of writing combined with a commitment to set aside time to do it and saying it publicly, will result in greater consistency here on this blog, and perhaps one day a book will emerge as well.
Along with the commitment to blog more frequently, I’m also going to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can. I think it will be fun!
If you already read my blog, I would love to read your comments and likes, and good will along the way as I attempt to fulfill this commitment. I would also like to thank you for helping me continue to grow and develop in this area of my life.
So this is it….my first post toward this new goal!
